Other, general

Broken antenna socket repair: $45 if the old socket is re-useable otherwise $47 (usually, 99% of the time, done the same day). Replacement back-light assemblies (Fault: Sound but no picture and if you shine a torch up to the screen you can still see the picture a little, the TV picture may also flash on briefly when first starting up): dependent on the size of the TV, typically cost between $180 to $380.  Maximum weight: 30kg.

         Transporting flat screen TV’s

• Your TV may be transported standing up or lying on its back (LCD screens have internal supports which will prevent damage to the screen if you go over a bump etc). If transporting the TV on its back, also make sure that nothing can fall onto the screen and break or damage it (LCD screens are only about 1mm thick glass coated in a protective layer and are relatively easy to break). If you have a car with a flat surface such as a ute etc and a thick doona, it may also be transported on its front, but you will have to make sure that the doona supports the screen, otherwise, if you go over a bump, depending on the TV, the screen can pop out and be irreparably damaged or destroyed.
• When carrying the TV on your own, always carry it with the screen facing you and don’t let the screen bump into things, also try not to put any pressure onto the screen itself.
• Finally, never leave the TV in a hot car or in direct sunlight, where the screen can heat up beyond its specifications (usually 40°C), or the screen may also be damaged or destroyed.
